Just about everyone imagines themselves at one time or another flying an airplane. Thanks to Hollywood movies, flying scenes romantic, exciting, and challenging, or so we believe. And thanks to the silver screen, it also seems pretty easy to do. So use your PC flight simulator combat software and get in the air!
Reality however is much different than what we see on the big screen. Flying aircraft is a complex physical endeavor, which also requires considerable thought. What is not simply go out and fly an airplane, a considerable amount of training is involved. Most professional pilots take up to a year or more to master the aeronautics necessary to fly safely.
Most of us, however, are not interested in actually flying aircraft. Although we think we would enjoy the thrill of flight, we do not want to risk the dangers. But there are also software programs which stay strictly with the flight characteristics of a single specific aircraft and focus on flying.
Using the increasingly affordable high-end computer capabilities, these software programs mimic the actual aircraft to an astonishing degree. The checklists, sounds, and instrument readings for engine start, taxi, and take off are as real as it gets. In addition, the graphics allow one to see the engine instruments respond in real-time. But the real thrill is getting the simulated aircraft in the air.
Just as in the past when America has gone to war the military and its equipment had become even more popular. With warfare today, fighter aircraft have come to the fore and children and adults alike yearn to experience flying one.
